Tom Lord has over 40 years of experience in the energy and banking industries, including senior positions with Big 4 consulting firms, investor owned and public power utilities, oil, gas, natural gas liquids and power production and trading firms as well as strategic consulting firms. He has headed trading desks in physical natural gas and NGLs for such firms as Morgan Stanley and BP as well as risk management, structuring and strategy projects with other firms. He had primary responsibility for on-site activities as well as development of the world’s first option based capacity market for electricity in Colombia under a 1999-2001 UNDP/World Bank engagement.

His most recent experiences were as lead for commodity consulting to consumer products and corporate clients in the energy, agricultural and metals markets for Ernst & Young - leading development of industry leading maturity models for commodity management. Prior to that he was the head of Dodd Frank consulting and commodity trade surveillance for PwC for non-financial industry clients.

He had primary responsibility for on-site activities as well as development of the world’s first option based capacity market for electricity in Colombia under a 1999-2001 UNDP/World Bank engagement.

He has led and participated in multiple software vendor selection processes in both the natural gas and electricity markets.

Tom earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A in Public Policy from Cornell University, a J.D. from University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Larry Lawrence

Larry G. Lawrence is an commodity professional with 35 years of consulting, management and entrepreneurial experience that blends commercial risk management success with senior risk management roles.  Trading and risk management initiatives have focused on advancing best practice risk and trading controls, and developing innovative approaches for hedge strategies and portfolio management and optimization.

He has extensive experience in trading and risk management implementation for energy companies, including hedge strategy development, tactical trading assistance, the development of trading and risk management policies, procedures, and control structures, the review and assessment of risk management programs, portfolio optimization modelling, real option valuation and modelling, trading and risk system selection and implementation, value at risk implementation and assessment, performance measurement, transaction structuring, power generation resource planning, development of forward price curves and term structures of volatility, credit risk management and corporate education.
